NYC police recover stolen car with baby inside
NEW YORK (AP) — Police in New York City say they’ve recovered a vehicle that was stolen with a baby left inside in a car seat.
The SUV was reported stolen at about 7:15 p.m. on Monday in Brooklyn.
Police said the mother of a 1-year-old boy apparently left the SUV running while she went inside a store. They said that’s when a suspected car thief jumped inside and took off.
Authorities put out an Amber Alert asking for the public’s help locating the white Mitsubishi Outlander before it was discovered abandoned several blocks away in another Brooklyn neighborhood. Police said the child was left inside unharmed.
There were no arrests.
