Pa. teen hurt in Boston bus crash works to rehab
PHILADELPHIA (AP) — A 16-year-old suburban Philadelphia teenager injured when a tour bus crashed in Boston on a trip to Harvard University in February says he’s working hard at his recovery and hopes to be able to hit the books again soon.
Matt Cruz was the most seriously hurt when the bus hit an overpass on Feb. 2; he remains paralyzed from the chest down. A total of 35 people were hurt, members of a group from Pennsylvania.
Cruz said Monday that he’s working hard at his recovery and hopes to walk again. Right now, he says he’s building up his stamina. Doctors say the Neshaminy High School sophomore still has a long way to go.
Cruz says he hopes to return to his studies soon and would love to attend Harvard someday.
