Windber school board meeting briefs: Aug. 21

The Windber Area School District board met Aug. 21. Here is a recap of some of the group’s business:

Approved a food service agreement with The Nutrition Group to provide food service staff for the Windber Stadium concession stand at a rate of $51 per four-hour shift.

Approved drivers from Miller Mo​tor Co., of Salix, to provide transportation services for the 2018-19 school year.

Authorized Superintendent Joseph Kimmel to attend a superintendents conference in Pittsburgh at a rate of $900.

Authorized Special Services Director Kristen Butler to attend the Pennsylvania Fellowship Program for Special Education Leaders in State College and Hershey at a rate of $495.

Hired Chelsea Kozar as a part-time teacher’s aide at a rate of $8.50 per hour.

Hired Denise Stevens as a lifeskills classroom aide at a rate of $9 per hour.

Approved Elyse Cameron as co-elementary reading team adviser, Linda Geiser as elementary reading team volunteer and Jason Hicks as safe schools coordinator.

Approved Vince Mock as the school resource officer with a stipend of $50,000.

Approved Autumn Senft, Karlie Sergeeff and Britney Fogle as substitute teachers through the Ignite Teacher Match program.
