Wilkes-Barre Christmas Parade Set For Today

The Annual City of Wilkes-Barre Christmas Parade will be held at 3 p.m. today in downtown Wilkes-Barre. The parade begins at South Main and South streets, and will travel down South Main Street, around Public Square, and go past the F.M. Kirby Center for the Performing Arts and the reviewing stand at North Main and Union streets. The following roads will be closed during this time frame: West Northampton Street, from South Franklin to South Washington Street Hazle Street, from Pennsylvania Boulevard to South Franklin Street South Street, from South Franklin to South Washington Street West Market Street, from South Franklin to South Washington Street North Main Street from Public Square to Union Street

The day’s events include: 11:30 a.m. Ornament craft, story time, and the Grinch at Barnes & Noble Wilkes-King’s 12:30 to 2 p.m. Making a Difference Ministries presents Broken Road Duo 1:30 p.m. YOUniversal Suzuki Strings perform at F.M. Kirby Center 2 p.m. Christmas Carol Sing-a-Long with Ms. Mary Baker on Public Square 3 p.m. 2018 Christmas Parade begins, with the tree lighting to follow featuring Wilkes-Barre Mohegan Sun Choir Performance
