Man accused of firing 60 rounds while intoxicated
IRONTON — The following information was compiled from Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office reports:
USING WEAPONS WHILE INTOXICATED: After getting a call from someone last week about a man firing a weapon at least 60 times, a sheriff’s deputy arrested Tracy Hamrick, 48, of County Road 1, South Point, on a felony charge of using weapons while intoxicated. Hamrick admitted being drunk, but said he didn’t know it was against the law to fire a weapon while drunk. Authorities confiscated several handguns, including a .38 caliber and a .22 caliber.
POSSESSION OF HEROIN: Following a traffic stop last week, a sheriff’s deputy arrested Richard J. Jones, 35, of County Road 1, South Point, on a charge of possession of heroin and transported him to jail. Jones also had an active warrant for his arrest.
RECEIVING STOLEN PROPERTY: Following a traffic stop last week, a sheriff’s deputy arrested Eric W. Roach, 41, of County Road 37, Scottown, on a charge of receiving stolen property (an Ohio license plate), and transported him to jail.
THEFT: Responding to a call last week, a sheriff’s deputy arrested Cody R. Patrick, 30, of Solida Road, South Point, on a charge he stole an air compressor and a rototiller and transported him to jail.
DRUG POSSESSION: Following a traffic stop last week, a sheriff’s deputy arrested Ericka S. Porter, 33, of the 1900 block of South 3rd Street, Ironton, on charges of possession of cocaine, possession of drug abuse instruments and possession of drug paraphernalia. Amy J. Darby, 43, of the same address, also was charged with possession of cocaine and possession of a drug abuse instrument. Both were transported to jail.
