Yvonne E. Wendlandt, 75, Beaver Dam, passed away peacefully at home Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2018.
Yvonne was born May 3, 1943, in Beaver Dam, the daughter of Skip and Milly (Durant) Litscher. She attended school in Fox Lake and one year of technical college in Madison. On June 27, 1964, she was united in marriage to Larry L. Wendlandt at Markesan United Methodist Church. She worked for the state of Wisconsin, Beaver Transport, Dodge County, Consultant Physicians in Pathology Specialties, and Wisconsin Power and Light before retiring in 1992.
Yvonne’s hobbies included playing cards, reading, doing cross-stitch, painting, making weekly trips to the casino and spending time with her friends and family. She treasured the winters they spent in Florida after retirement, where she enjoyed spending time with friends fishing and playing shuffleboard. Her greatest joy in life was being a mom. She considered her family’s happiness and well-being her greatest accomplishment.
Yvonne is survived by her son, Rick (Jennifer) Wendlandt of Fox Lake; sister, Nancy Reuter of Princeton; nieces, nephew, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry, in 2016; parents; in-laws, Myron and Margaret Wendlandt; brother-in-law, Jim Reuter; and other relatives.
A memorial gathering will be held Tuesday, Aug. 21, at Cornerstone Funeral & Cremation Services, 135 Keller Blvd., Beaver Dam, from 10 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Cherie Forret officiating. Inurnment will take place at Markesan Memorial Cemetery.
