More than 80 bags of heroin, 2 guns seized during Trumbull traffic stop

TRUMBULL — After a vehicle was stopped for an equipment violation on Friday night and

Tiyesse Boone, 22, of Freemont Street in Bridgeport, was charged with possession of narcotics, possession of narcotics with intent to sell, possession of high capacity magazine, illegal alternation of firearm, two counts of a criminal possession of a firearm and weapons in a motor vehicle.

A 21-year-old and a 19-year-old, both from Bridgeport, who were also in the vehicle were issued infractions and released at the scene. Police said both had a small amount of marijuana in their possession.

Around 9 p.m. Friday, a Trumbull police officer stopped a vehicle on Main Street near Old Town Road for an equipment violation.

“When an officer approached the car, he saw an open container of liquor on the floor and could smell marijuana coming from inside,” police said.

The front seat passenger, identifed as Boone, had more than 80 bags of heroin, several hundred dollars in cash and two loaded guns in his possession, police said. One of the guns had an extended magazine.

“The serial numbers on one of the handguns was found to be intentionally obscured to hamper identification, and further inviestion will follow to determin their origin,” police said.

Boone was held on a $150,000 bond. He’s scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 8.
