JACKSON, Tenn. (AP) _ Clutch shooting by Megan Scott down the stretch gave Simon Fraser a 74-71 second-round victory Friday over Union of Tennessee at the NAIA women’s tournament.

Sixteenth-seed Simon Fraser (23-7) moves on to the semifinals against the winner of the SW Oklahoma-Xavier game. Union (31-3) was the tournament’s fourth seed.

Simon Fraser trailed 38-31 at the break, and 58-44 in the second half before going on a 21-6 run. Nikki Johnson’s free throw with 4:42 left gave The Clan its first lead, 65-64.

Scott nailed a 3-point play with 2:24 to go, and two free throws with five seconds left to keep Simon Fraser out of reach.

A 3-point try by Union’s Latisha Beamus at the buzzer missed.

Scott led Simon Fraser with 20 points, and Johnson finished with 13.

Jill Crotts led Union with 17, Michelle Street and Beamus scored 15 apiece.
