Boys & Girls Club names New Hampshire’s Youth of the Year
MANCHESTER, N.H. (AP) — The New Hampshire Boys & Girls Club has named Alana Dail its Youth of the Year, allowing her to receive college scholarships and compete with other winners for the Northeast regional title.
The Youth of the Year title recognizes leadership, service, academic excellence and dedication to a healthy lifestyle.
Dail is part of the Boys & Girls Club of Souhegan Valley. She said since she started attending it at about age 7, the Boys and Girls Club has become her second home. She said it’s shown her what positive friendships and influences are, has given her the opportunity to be a leader to younger members.
Regional winners advance to Washington, D.C., in September to compete for the national title.
