NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) _ Ray Stevens, who wrote ``The Streak'' and ``Everything Is Beautiful,'' says he's cancer-free after prostate surgery.

The 60-year-old singer had surgery June 15 at Johns Hopkins University Medical Center in Baltimore to remove his prostate.

``I'm very fortunate to have been given a clean bill of health following my surgery,'' he said in a statement today. ``The cancer was confined to the prostate.''

Ray returns to the stage at the Acuff Theatre in Nashville on Sept. 15.
