Federal Reserve executive visits Marshall

HUNTINGTON — The Marshall University Lewis College of Business presented the second speaker of its 2018-19 Cohen Business Professionalism Speaker Series Wednesday afternoon at the Memorial Student Center.

Thomas I. “Tom” Barkin is president and CEO of the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond, one of 12 regional reserve banks representing the Fifth District, which includes the Carolinas, Maryland, Virginia, Washington, D.C., and most of West Virginia. The Federal Reserve Bank is the central bank of the United States and promotes the functions necessary to operate the nation’s economy.

The Ron & Sandy Cohen Business Professionalism Speaker Series is part of a professional enrichment program in the College of Business. Students who complete the program, which includes attending a career fair and etiquette dinner, receive a certificate of completion and an official business college lapel pin.
