Why is there not enough parking at DMV?

July 15, 2018

I have a few weeks before my required driver’s license renewal with photo taken and have already tried twice to achieve my goal, very early before opening hours, to no avail.

But the main thing upsetting to me is how can Danbury, a Department of Motor Vehicle hub, provide so little parking space? There is literally no place to go, unless you are an employee, and I am not sure even they have enough spots. So, do I have to sleep in my car after arriving at midnight like a teeny bopper trying to get concert tickets, or what? Could I even get a parking spot then?

How can Danbury be classified as a hub with insufficient parking spaces? Why is the Danbury AAA excluded from issuing picture renewal licenses? I wouldn’t even mind paying the extra fee (even though the fee was just raised) at AAA just because I knew I could find a parking spot.

I understand the lot to the left of the DMV is empty; does the town have plans to purchase/convert it into parking?
