PFLAG Aiken will meet at 7 p.m. today at the Aiken Unitarian Universalist Church, 115 Gregg Ave. Anyone wanting to learn more about the LGBT community or how to support LGBT family members and friends are invited.

The Astronomy Club of Augusta will meet at 7 p.m. Friday in room 117 of the Ruth Patrick Science Education Center on the campus of USC Aiken, 471 University Parkway. Dr. Nathan Yanasak will be the guest speaker. The topic will be Cosmic Rays. Refreshments will be served. Lunar observing on the lawn will be held after the meeting. The Carolina Jamboree will be held from 7 to 10 p.m. Friday at the Jaycee Building, 98 Johnson Road, Belvedere. Danny Halsende and the Classic Band will perform.

The Off the Hook Crochet Group will meet from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the Aiken County Public Library, 314 Chesterfield St. S.W. The group is open to anyone interested in crochet. The Aiken Civic Ballet will hold auditions for “The Nutcracker” at 1 p.m. Saturday in room 125 of the Etherredge Center on the Campus of USC Aiken, 471 University Parkway. Auditions are open to ages 6 to adult. The audition fee is $20.

An End of Summer Bash will be held Saturday at the Houndslake Country Club, 901 Houndslake Drive. Festivities start at the pool from noon to 2 p.m. with a cookout featuring hamburgers and hot dogs. A Smoke and Stroke Golf Tournament will be held for $50 per player, and includes nine holes of golf, two cigars, three mixed drinks on the course and a barbecue buffet after the tournament.
