Westford Rallies to Get Past Cambridge

After losing the first set, the Westford Academy girls volleyball team rallied for three in a row to defeat Cambridge, 3-1, in a very competitive match on Thursday.

Cambridge won the opener (25-23) and then the Grey Ghosts rattled off wins of 26-24, 25-19 and 25-19.

Elise Sepe and Caitlin Cannuscio had 8 kills and 2 blocks each for the Grey Ghosts (5-3). Lexi Wilson added 5 kills and 4 aces.

Lowell 3

Triton 0

Izzy Bunce was terrific from the service line with 7 aces to power the Red Raiders to the non-league win.

Bunce added 20 assists for Lowell (3-5). Dai Thawnghmung added 11 kills and 13 digs, while Sofia Cruz produced 6 kills, Kerala Page claimed 4 kills and 5 digs, and Izzy Seoun chipped in 9 digs.

Whittier Tech 3

Notre Dame 2

Despite 18 assists and 4 aces by Elena Murguia, the Lancers were nipped in a CAC match.

Scores were 21-25, 25-22, 23-25, 25-17, 15-7. Emily Aho contributed 3 blocks and 14 service points.

Maddie Walent was strong at the net with 9 kills for NDA (3-6), while Jackie Denisco had 47 digs and Christina Tsillas added 3 blocks.

Billerica fell by scores of 25-20, 25-7 and 25-7.

Samantha Sullivan and Brooke Larson were standouts for BMHS.

Tewksbury 3

Dracut 0

The Redmen defeated Merrimack Valley Conference rival Dracut on Wednesday by scores of 25-11, 25-18, 25-22.

For Dracut, Nadia Saari led the way with 22 digs and 5 service points.

Also starring for the Middies were McKenzie Snowdon with 9 kills and 5 blocks, Sabrina Morse with 7 kills 11 digs. and Nalani Keang with 10 digs 3 kills.
