Car dealer digging out snow for President Day’s sales

February 15, 2015

MEDFORD, Mass. (AP) — More than a foot of snow in the Boston area cut into time for the traditional President’s Day weekend sales promotions, but some are digging out to carry on.

At the Colonial Volkswagen in Medford, Mass., just north of Boston, workers opened the dealership at noon Sunday and immediately went to work digging out more than 200 cars from the latest snows.

Jessica Jaynes, the dealership’s receptionist, said everyone from managers to sales representatives were pitching in to help clear the cars.

She said, “They’ll probably be out there most of the day and a little tomorrow.” Jaynes the wind was “really terrible” even after it stopped snowing.

Jaynes said the dealership was just seeing its first potential customer walk into the sales room around 2:30 p.m.
