Kishwaukee College board to consider tax levy, DeKalb TIF
MALTA – A public hearing regarding the 2018 tax levy will be held during the Kishwaukee College Board of Trustees meeting Tuesday.
After the public hearing, chief financial officer Jill Hansen will ask the board to approve the levy that would apply to DeKalb, Ogle, Lee, Boone, Kane, Winnebago and LaSalle counties, according to meeting agenda documents.
The college is looking to have $408,325 levied and abated for 2018, according to meeting agenda documents.
The board also will consider whether to approve an intergovernmental agreement related to the tax increment financing district within the city of DeKalb. The city is offering to allocate more than $9 million in surplus funds to affected taxing bodies, and Kishwaukee College would get $517,500.35 of that surplus.
Kishwaukee College spokeswoman Kayte Hamel has said college officials do not comment on any agenda matters ahead of board meetings.
The meeting is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Tuesday in room C2175 at Kishwaukee College, 21193 Malta Road.
