At Coughlin, freshman goalkeeper Emily Buraczewski stepped in and made five saves, recording a shutout in the Crusaders’ 2-0 win against Valley West in WVC field hockey Monday. Jolene Ulichney scored a goal and also assisted a score by Abie Sorokas, as the Crusaders came out on top in a game between two teams expected to contend for the District 2 Class 2A title.
