At Berwick, the Bulldogs used a three-goal first half to power past Pittston Area, 3-0, on Thursday.

Abbie Seely, Katie Starr and Sarina Definnis scored for Berwick, whose goalkeeper, Jadyn Michael, had a five-save shutout.

Pittston Area goalkeeper Mia Snyder made 14 saves.

BOYSAt Hazleton Area, Wil Garcia scored twice, and Gabe Fabian had two second-half goals as the Cougars beat Tunkhannock, 5-2, in Wyoming Valley Conference boys soccer Thursday.

Fabian also assisted two goals, including Michael Mehalshick’s that put Hazleton Area (5-3-2, 5-3-1 Division 1) on the board. Eddie Melan and Jaoa Oldoni scored for Tunkhannock (6-3, 4-3 Division 1).
