Field Day set for Friday

BEAVER DAM -- The Dodge County Farmers for Healthy Soil-Healthy Water and Dodge County Alliance are hosting an educational programs that teach farmers and the community about water and soil health. Together, these groups want to increase use of conservation practices that will lead to improved water quality.

The Dodge County Farmers for Healthy Soil and Healthy Water are set to host a field day at 10 a.m. Friday on the Hammer- Kavazanjian Farm, W7591 County Highway E, Beaver Dam.

The keynote speaker is Dr. Jerry Hatfield, U.S. Department of Agriculture-Agricultural Research Service for the National Lab for Agriculture and the Environment. The subject is on the impact of weather extremes on agriculture.

UW Discovery Farms will be present to participate in the discussion and share about the farmer group’s nitrogen use efficiency efforts.
