Eastern Montana man convicted of killing his father
BILLINGS, Mont. (AP) — An eastern Montana man was convicted of killing his father in October 2017 by shooting him in the eye.
The Billings Gazette reports 45-year-old Todd Carlisle Fisher was convicted Wednesday of deliberate homicide and tampering with evidence in the death of 80-year-old Wilbur Fisher at his residence outside Glendive.
Todd Fisher reported his father’s death on Oct. 16, 2017. Officials believe he had been dead for at least a day.
Witnesses told investigators that Todd Fisher was stressed about having to care for his father, that his father often berated him and that Todd Fisher had charged $10,000 to his father’s credit card without permission.
Court records say Todd Fisher was the beneficiary of his father’s $60,000 life insurance policy.
