West Texas man charged in beating deaths of his parents
BRECKENRIDGE, Texas (AP) — A West Texas man has been charged in the beating deaths of his parents at their home in an attack that investigators believe was carried out using a baseball bat.
Stephens County jail records show 28-year-old Paxton Lee Sullivan of Breckenridge was being held Thursday on charges of capital murder of multiple persons. No attorney was listed to represent Sullivan. Bond was $2 million.
A criminal complaint says a relative Dec. 14 found the bodies of 58-year-olds Mitchel Sullivan and Terry Sullivan after she never showed up for work as a tax appraiser. A blood-covered bat was at the scene. Paxton Sullivan was arrested nearby.
The complaint says police in Breckenridge, 90 miles (144.83 kilometers) west of Fort Worth, had responded to multiple family violence calls and the parents reported fearing their son.
