‘Fallout 76’ fans prepare for upcoming video game release
HUNTINGTON — “Fallout 76” fans celebrated the upcoming release of the highly anticipated video game with a launch party Friday evening at Marshall University’s Memorial Student Center in Huntington.
Those who attended got the opportunity to play the beta version of the game. The game officially releases Wednesday, Nov. 14.
The hype surrounding the game erupted in the Mountain State after the first trailer debuted, as “Country Roads” played over imagery of the State Capitol building, the New River Gorge Bridge, The Greenbrier resort and other iconic West Virginia imagery, establishing the game’s setting.
The launch party acted as a fundraiser for several area nonprofit organizations. Cafe Appalachia, Children’s Home Society, WV Autism and West Virginia Healthy Kids and Families Coalition were beneficiaries of the event.
