1 dead in police shooting after domestic call in N Carolina

ABERDEEN, N.C. (AP) — Authorities say police officers in North Carolina shot and killed a man after he fired on them.

Moore County Sheriff Neil Godfrey said his deputies were called to a home near Aberdeen around 3 a.m. Saturday about a domestic fight.

Authorities say when officers arrived, 33-year-old Arthur Garner fired at them and they fired back.

Godfrey told media outlets that Garner was killed and the deputies were not injured.

The sheriff did not release the names of the deputies, how many fired or details about the 911 call before the shooting.

The State Bureau of Investigation is investigating the shooting,
