Ziggy Marley: A reggae night on College Street
Six-time Grammy winner Ziggy Marley, the reggae prince, will bring his Rebellion Rises 2018 Tour to the College Street Music Hall Saturday, Sept. 15.
Like so many from musical families, Marley learned by immersion — at 10 years old he sat in on recording sessions with his father, Bob Marley.
Today Ziggy is front man to The Melody Makers, who have produced chart-topping tunes such as “Look Who’s Dancing,” “Tomorrow People” and “Tumbling Down.”
Marley also commands Ziggy Marley Organics, a GMO-free product line including flavored coconut oils and hemp seed snacks, which was started in 2012. And he created a comic book known as Marijuanaman, a hardcover comic about an alien who has a message for Earth.
This concert is an all-ages show with general admission standing room and seating in the balcony. A dollar per ticket sold will be sent to Unlimited Resources Giving Enlightenment to administer charity donations.
Also playing will be Steel Pulse, a roots reggae band from Birmingham, England, whose members are from working-class West Indian immigrant families.
