60 Runners, Walkers Lace Up For 26th Annual Hook O’Malley Cancer Research Fundraiser

SCRANTON60 lace up for Hook O’Malley run Sixty runners and walkers laced up for the 26th annual Hook O’Malley 5K Run/Walk Against Cancer on Sunday. Runners tackling the hilly course in McDade Park, Scranton helped raise around $2,000 for the American Cancer Society, said Patrick O’Malley, a Lackawanna County commissioner and son of the late Paul “Hook” O’Malley, a boxer and trainer whom the race honors. Mario Zarate was top male runner. He finished the course in 19 minutes 23 seconds. Tiffany Leventhal was top female runner at 21 minutes 20 seconds. Sinclair Wright was top boxer to run at 21 minutes nine seconds. — JON O’CONNELL
