AUSTIN — The Mower County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s assistance in locating five children who are believed to have been taken by a parent ordered to have no contact with them.

Missing are Mateo, 10, Mollycia, 11, Mojo, 13, Morgan, 16, and Marco, 17, Cooley.

Their mother, 39-year-old Izetta Cooley, is believed to have come to the residence where the children were staying and taken them, according to an alert from the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension.

Mollycia, Mateo and Mortan were last seen in Rose Creek around 10:30 p.m. Saturday. Mojo and Marco were not seen, but all five could be traveling with their mother.

Izetta Cooley is court-ordered not to have contact with the children.

“Because of recent events, authorities are concerned for (the children’s) welfare,” the BCA alert read.

The Star Tribune reported that Cooley’s husband, Miguel J. Cooley Sr., 44, is in the Mower County Jail facing a murder charge. He allegedly fatally shot a 20-year-old man sitting on a curb in Fargo, N.D.

Izetta Cooley is described as 5 feet, 4 inches tall, 180 pounds with brown eyes and brown hair. They are believed to be traveling in a black 2007 Suzuki XL7 with Minnesota license plate 103WJC. Cooley’s residence is in Moorhead, but authorities say it is unclear where they are heading and they may be staying in a hotel.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Mower County Sheriff’s Office at (507) 437-9400.
