Steve Martin, Martin Short to perform at Mayo Civic Center
Tickets go on sale Friday for a show by Steve Martin and Martin Short at 7:30 p.m. May 23 at Mayo Civic Center.
The concert, part of the “Now You See Them, Soon You Won’t” tour, is billed as a musical comedy act. Martin, an actor, author, comedian and banjo player with five Grammy Awards, is the musical portion of the act. He has also appeared in the films “The Jerk,” “Planes, Trains and Automobiles,” “Father of the Bride” and “Three Amigos.”
Short won his first Emmy Award in 1982 while working on Canada’s “SCTV” comedy show. He moved to “Saturday Night Live” and later won a Tony Award in 1999 for his role in Broadway’s “Little Me.” Among his film appearances are “Three Amigos” and “The Father of the Bride,” both with Martin.
