Three arrested after meth, marijuana found in hotel room

Lake Havasu City Police officers arrested on Havasu resident and two Phoenix residents after a search of a London Bridge Road hotel room Wednesday afternoon.

Police dispatchers received reports that morning of suspects trespassing at the property. Officers arrived at the location and made contact with three suspects, later identified as Sarah N. Jarrett, 23, of Havasu, with Phoenix residents Rick Varner, 50, and Jorge Suarez, 44.

According to city officials, their hotel room was secured pending a search warrant after officers observed items of drug paraphernalia in plain view. After the search warrant was obtained, officers located quantities of methamphetamine and marijuana within the room, the police report said.

Jarrett was arrested on charges of possession of dangerous drugs for sale, possession of dangerous drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia and trespassing. She was additionally charged with introducing contraband to a jail facility when she allegedly attempted to enter Lake Havasu City Jail with a pocket knife on her person. She was held on $50,000 bond.

Varner, who was arrested on charges of possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and failure to comply with a court order, was also charged with introducing contraband to a jail facility when he allegedly attempted to enter Lake Havasu City Jail with a small container of marijuana on his person. He was also held on $50,000 bond.

Suarez was arrested on charges of possession of dangerous drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia, and was held on $1,000 bond.
