DISC GOLF AT BEECH FORK

WHAT: A new 9-hole family disc golf course designed by Johnny Sias and paid for by the Beech Fork State Park Foundation

WHERE: Beech Fork State Park, 5601 Long Branch Road, Barboursville (about 10 miles south of Huntington and Barboursville)

OTHER FOUNDATION EVENTS: Saturday, April 13, the annual spring clean up. Starts at 8 a.m.; Saturday, April 27, a Trails and Field Work Day at 10 a.m.; Saturday, May 4, the first Wildflower Arts and Nature Festival, a day of wildflower hikes, local artisans, a farmer’s market, nature educators, live music, other Appalachian performers, an art show, a quilt show, and more. Free admission although some activities charge a fee.

THE NEXT MEETING: The Beech Fork State Park Foundation will be meeting at 7 p.m. March 7, at Park Headquarters in the game room. Everyone is welcome. We can always use more help.
