Season series: Bridgeport has won two of three matchups between the teams, but lost the only game held at Mohegan Sun Arena.
About the Sound Tigers: These teams are more than familiar with each other, having just played on Sunday afternoon. Goaltender Chris Gibson is expected to get the start in net after making 33 saves in that game to shut out Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. Forward Michael Dal Colle was named the AHL Player of the Week after scoring five goals on five shots and leads the team with 14 this season. Josh Ho-Sang remains with the New York Islanders on recall. Bridgeport has scored 28 power play goals this season, but the Penguins were successful on all five of their kills Sunday.
■ Forward Thomas Di Pauli was not on the ice for practice Tuesday at the Toyota SportsPlex, and head coach Clark Donatelli said he is week to week.
Di Pauli was shaken up Sunday after being hit by a shot and left the game for good following a punishing hit from Bridgeport’s Stephen Gionta.
■ Wilkes-Barre/Scranton is getting at least one forward back, and possibly two.
Jean-Sebastien Dea was reassigned to the AHL by Pittsburgh on Tuesday. He appeared in three games with the parent club, scoring a goal.
Soon after, captain Garrett Wilson was placed on waivers and will need to clear at today’s deadline to join the Penguins. The 27-year-old had two assists in 13 games with Pittsburgh.
Forward Ryan Scarfo was on the ice with one of the main lines on Tuesday, but the addition of Dea could prevent him from making his fourth start as a Penguin.
