Blasts Kills 8, Hurts 65 in China
BEIJING (AP) _ An explosion near a farmers market in central China’s Hunan province has killed eight people and injured 65, the Yangcheng Evening News said.
The explosion occurred Monday morning in the street that runs past the county government office of the town Yizhang, near the city of Chenzhou, about 1,000 miles south of Beijing, the newspaper reported Wednesday.
Police were investigating the cause of the explosion.
In another recent explosion in Hunan, a homemade bomb injured 37 people on a bus in Changsha, the provincial capital, on Jan. 17.
