Delaware man sentenced for selling heroin that killed woman
WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) — A Delaware man has been sentenced to more than seven years behind bars for knowingly selling heroin with an “extra risk” to a woman who later died.
Multiple media outlets report that the U.S. Attorney’s Office said 58-year-old James Goodwyn of Wilmington, also known as “Wali Bey,” and another person sold heroin to a young woman who overdosed and died in November 2016.
Authorities say the woman’s body was taken by wheelbarrow and car to Edgemoor, where it was dumped.
U.S. Attorney’s Office spokeswoman Kimberlynn Reeves said police traced the heroin back to Goodwyn.
Goodwyn pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute heroin. He was sentenced Dec. 11 to 90 months, or 7.5 years, in prison.
