LAS VEGAS — Sustained north winds to the mid 30s with gusts as high as 50 mph are expected to impact the Tri-state and lower Colorado River basin from Lake Mead to Lake Havasu and west through the eastern Mojave Desert on Thursday and Friday.
The National Weather Service issued a wind advisory Tuesday afternoon.
Winds are expected to increase early Thursday morning down the Overton Arm of Lake Mead, then spread south along the Colorado River through southern Clark and eastern San Bernardino counties; peaking Thursday afternoon and night and beginning to decrease Friday morning. The advisory is in effect from 4 a.m. PST Thursday to 1 p.m. MST Friday.
The NWS warned of dangerous boating conditions on lakes and gusty winds that could make driving difficult for high profile vehicles.
