MIAMI (AP) _ Grant Hill scored 26 points as the Detroit Pistons beat the Miami Heat 103-90 Monday night.

Brian Williams added 17 points for the Pistons, who won for only the third time in their last 14 road games.

Alonzo Mourning scored 26 points for Miami, which lost for only the fourth time in its last 22 games.

Miami trailed 74-66 after three periods, but rallied to tie the game at 79 on consecutive 3-pointers by Dan Majerle and a jumper by Tim Hardaway with 8:05 left.

But Malik Sealy scored five points during a 7-0 run that put the Pistons ahead 86-79 with 6:34 left. Hill helped clinch the victory with a dunk over Mourning and a baseline jumper that gave Detroit a 90-79 lead with 3:46 remaining.

Detroit, which snapped an eight-game losing streak against Miami, got solid play off the bench from Jerry Stackhouse (13 points), Sealy and Jerome Williams (11 points).

Majerle and Hardaway each scored 13 points for Miami.

Hill scored 12 points and Mourning 13 in the first period, which ended with Detroit leading 22-20.

The game was tied at 42 until the Pistons closed the first half with a 5-0 run, including a 3-pointer by Joe Dumars.

Detroit opened the third quarter with a 10-4 surge and took a 72-60 lead on a three-point play by Stackhouse. Miami narrowed the gap to 74-66 at the end of the period on Voshon Lenard's 3-pointer at the buzzer.

Notes: NBA commissioner David Stern was at the game. ... Hill has led the Pistons in scoring, rebounding and assists in the same game 12 times this season. ... Detroit has lost 11 of its last 13 on the road. ... The Heat activated 6-foot-10 forward Terry Mills from the injured list. Mills had been out since Jan. 30 with inflammation in his left knee. To make room for Mills, the Heat placed Antonio Lang on the injured list with tendinitis.
