Annual All-Star Soccer comes to Columbus
Some of the top soccer talent from around the state will gather at Central Community College - Columbus on Thursday night for the CCC All-Star Games.
There will be a boys and a girls game, with the girls game beginning at 5 p.m. and the boys game to follow around 7 p.m.
The cost of admission to the game is $6 dollars for adults, while children under the age of five will be allowed in for free.
Games will be on the Raider Soccer Field located on the Northwest side of the Columbus Campus.
Some of the local players in action include Scotus’ Carter Thorson, Zack Beiermann, Inri Dumas, Luke Bettenhausen, Emily Stutzman, Emma Brandt and Courtney Kosch. Scouts Boys head coach P.J. Miller is one of the head coaches for the boys game.
“I’m just looking forward to watching the kids play, they where chosen to play in this game for a reason,” Miller said. “They’re a talented bunch of kids from all over, and some of them we didn’t get to see throughout the season.”
Columbus High’s Jorge Moncibais, Vasco Citta, Antonio Jumenez, Bella Beltran, Macee Trotta and Ana Dominguez-Lopez were all included on their respective rosters. Columbus High boys head coach Jon Arlt is the other boys head coach.
“I’m just excited to see all the talent on the field at the same time,” Arlt said. “Guys from different schools meshing together to have fun and play the game they love.”
Lakeview will be represented by Makenna Klug.
The girls coaches are Aurora’s Micayla Dunn and Schuyler’s Clarissa Dunn.
“I am so honored to coach in the CCC All-Star game,” said Micayla Dunn. “What an exciting evening full of really good soccer players. It will be so fun to be surrounded by some of the best players in the state.”
