Body found after home invasion

September 21, 2018

A man was found dead Thursday in Paulding County, Ohio, after police were called on a report of a home invasion.

The sheriff’s department was called at 12:28 p.m. to 11342 County Road 230 in Cecil. Deputies found a man dead inside. His name was not released.

“We have a perimeter in place at this time with aviation patrol canvassing the woods around this address,” Sheriff Jason Landers said. “We do know two people fled the residence in a black 4-door Hyundai. We have reason to believe more suspects may have fled into a wooded area behind the residence.

“We do not know this for certain, but we are using the daylight we have and resources available to make sure no one is out there. From the tips we are following, we believe this to be an isolated incident. We do not think this is a random home invasion.”

Witnesses described one of the suspects as a man, 5-foot-6 to 5-foot-9 and white, wearing tan shorts, a knit hat and aviator-style sunglasses.
