Treasury Bond Prices Are Mixed

NEW YORK (AP) _ Treasury bond prices were narrowly mixed at midday.

The price of the Treasury’s 10-year note was off 1-32 point, or 31.25 cents per $1,000 in face value, around midday, while its yield rose to 6.47 percent from 6.46 percent late Wednesday.

But prices of 30-year bonds were up 2-32 point and yielded 6.18 percent, down from 6.19 percent late Wednesday.

Yields on three-month Treasury bills fell to 5.85 percent as the discount lost 0.03 percentage point to 5.70 percent. Six-month yields slipped to 6.37 percent as the discount slipped 0.01 percentage point to 6.10 percent. One-year yields rose to 6.19 percent as the discount gained 0.02 percentage point to 5.90 percent.

Yields are the interest bonds pay by maturity, while the discount is the interest at which they are sold.
