Wolves even the score
WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP — Boone Grove couldn’t get Carson Husmann out Friday.
There just enough wasn’t enough else to go around.
The South Central slugger bashed two home runs and walked twice in the Porter County Conference tournament championship, but the Satellites managed only three other hits (two by BJ Intagliata) in falling to the Wolves 8-3 at Senator Park.
“We knew they were going to kill us,” Boone coach Jake Gholston said of the potent combo of Husmann and Kyle Schmack. “It was just a matter of not putting guys on base for them and getting the guys coming up after them out.”
