Police investigating armed robbery on Morton Avenue in Aiken
Aiken Public Safety is investigating an armed robbery Sunday evening on the 700 block of Morton Avenue in Aiken.
An 18-year-old woman called police around 6:25 p.m. Sunday and claimed she had just been robbed by three men at the residence, which belonged to an 18-year-old man who was not home at the time, according to the report.
The victim told officers three black males knocked on the door and, when she answered it, they asked for the man who lived there, the report states.
When the victim told them he was not home, they physically pushed their way inside and one suspect presented a firearm.
The victim told investigators she recognized one of the suspects, who she said was named “Cameron.” She said “Cameron” took her money while the other two men ransacked the house.
She said they took one bottle of liquor and then “Cameron” gave her money back to her, saying, “This is nothing personal, it’s gang things.”
Officers picked up the man who lived at the residence after he was seen walking back to the home.
He spoke with officers, while the female victim provided a written statement.
The three suspects are still at large.
