Talbott retiring as Wyoming Game and Fish director

January 31, 2019

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) — Wyoming Game and Fish Director Scott Talbott is retiring after 34 years of service with the agency.

Talbott, who was appointed director in 2011, said it’s been an honor and privilege working with and for the people of Wyoming.

He says in a statement that his colleagues at the agency are unbelievable stewards of Wyoming’s world-class wildlife.

During his tenure, Game and Fish addressed recovery efforts of wolves, grizzly bears and black-footed ferrets as well as conservation efforts on sage grouse.

The Game and Fish Commission will present three candidates for the vacancy to Gov. Mark Gordon, who will appoint Talbott’s replacement.
