TIVERTON, R.I. (AP) — A Rhode Island high school is asking community members to donate pies for an annual fundraiser.

The Providence Journal reports Tiverton High School students sell about 60 pies at A Country Day at Pardon Gray each year. This year the students can't bake because of ongoing construction at their school.

About 30 pies come from the high school and the rest are supplied by Tiverton Land Trust members. Festival organizers say the pie sales bring in about $2,000 each year. Each slice includes a complimentary scoop of ice cream.

Anyone who would like to donate a pie is asked to contact Marcia Phillips at 401-625-5731. A Country Day at Pardon Gray takes place Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event includes live music, farm animals and games.
