January 5, 2019

JUNEAU -- A 54-year-old Watertown contractor was charged with felony theft after he was accused of stealing from the Dodge County Antique Power Club.

Steve Neuman is charged with one felony count of theft in a business setting in excess of $10,000. Neuman was given $23,200 for a down payment on building materials to construct a new barn last summer, the criminal complaint states. He admitted to failing to complete the work and using between $12,000-$16,000 for living expenses.

According to the criminal complaint, Neuman allegedly told investigators that he was “laid up and needed money to make it.”

If convicted, he faces up to 10 years in prison.

Neuman is scheduled to make his initial appearance Jan. 22 in Dodge County Circuit Court.
