The Aiken Department of Public Safety is requesting assistance in identifying the suspect who can be seen in a photo from the ATM’s security camera.

Officers responded to the Bank of America ATM at 3549 Richland Ave. W. on Wednesday, Jan. 3, and met with the victim who said the suspect approached him while he was parked at the ATM and demanded money, according to Public Safety.

After receiving an undisclosed amount of money, the suspect fled to a waiting vehicle, police said.

Anyone with information related to the identity of the individual involved is asked to contact CrimeStoppers of the Midlands at 888-CRIME-SC (888-274-6372).
