2 Casper men enter guilty pleas in child abuses cases
CASPER, Wyo. (AP) — Two Casper men have entered guilty pleas in cases of children suffering broken bones.
Mitchell Alan McCain faces three to five years in prison for breaking a 2-year-old girl’s leg in August 2017. KTWO-AM reports McCain entered an Alford plea to child abuse Wednesday. Under such a plea, McCain did not admit guilt but acknowledges the state has enough evidence to gain a conviction.
The girl had suffered a broken leg in June 2017, as well. McCain said a dog knocked the child down the stairs.
Separately, Anthony Keevin Skansberg pleaded guilty to child abuse for breaking the arm of a 20-month-old boy in April. Doctors found two other fractures in different stages of healing. KTWO-AM reports prosecutors will recommend a sentence of up to 3 ½ years.
Sentencing dates have not been set.
