Greenwich businessman Ned Lamont and Bridgeport Mayor Joe Ganim meet in their first debate in the Democratic gubernatorial primary Thursday evening. — PLANE CRASH: A small airplane with only the pilot on board has crashed near an airport in the central Connecticut town of Plainville. The Federal Aviation Administration says the Rutan Defiant aircraft crashed south of the town’s airport around 10:45 a.m. Thursday. SENT: 130 words.

— HARTFORD-SOCCER: The United Soccer League announced Wednesday it is bringing a team to the Connecticut city next year, and they will play under the name Hartford Athletic. SENT: 130 words.
