Ex-US Virgin Islands official charged in tax case
CHARLOTTE AMALIE, U.S. Virgin Islands (AP) — The former director of the U.S. Virgin Islands’ Internal Revenue Bureau has been charged with tax evasion.
Louis Willis turned himself into authorities on Friday along with Gerard Castor, the owner of the company Balbo Construction.
Willis is in part accused of understating $2.9 million worth in tax returns for Castor’s company.
Both men are scheduled to be arraigned on Feb. 27.
