NEW YORK (AP) — The New York Jets have acquired the No. 3 overall pick in the NFL draft from the Indianapolis Colts, in an apparent bid to get one of the top quarterbacks available. The Jets say they are sending the Colts their first-rounder — No. 6 overall — along with two second-rounders this year and a second-rounder next year to complete the massive deal.
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — The magical season continues for University of Maryland-Baltimore County. The team that won the in the America East championship with a buzzer-beating 3-pointer has made it to the second round of the NCAA Tournament with a history-making upset. The Retrievers trounced top overall seed Virginia 74-54 to become the first 16 seed to beat a No. 1 in the history of the men’s tournament. They’ll face No. 9 Kansas State tomorrow for a chance to go to the Sweet 16.

UNDATED (AP) — A person familiar with the negotiations says AL MVP Jose Altuve (al-TOO’-vay) and the World Series champion Houston Astros have agreed to a contract that guarantees him an additional $151 million over five seasons through 2024. The 5-foot-6 Altuve hit .346 last season to win his second straight AL batting title and third in four seasons. He had 24 homers, 82 RBIs and 32 stolen bases in his MVP season.
ARE, Sweden (AP) — Mikaela Shiffrin has won her seventh slalom of the season at the World Cup finals in Sweden, after securing her fifth slalom season title and second straight overall championship last week. Today’s win was the American star’s 32nd victory in the slalom and 43rd overall.
