U.S. Marshals arrest man charged in Cleveland shooting that left woman with serious brain injury

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- A U.S. Marshals task force on Thursday arrested a fugitive charged in a Cleveland shooting that left a woman with a serious brain injury.

Aaron L. Pittmon, 25, of Cleveland, was arrested at a home on East 108th Street near Union Avenue, the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force said in a news release.

Pittmon barricaded himself in the home, but authorities found him hiding in the attic, the news release says.

Pittmon is charged with felonious assault in the May 19 shooting at Million Dollar Club on Clark Avenue near West 44th Street in Cleveland, according to court records.

Pittmon and two other men fired several gunshots into the club. A bullet struck a 19-year-old woman in the head, police said.

The woman was taken to MetroHealth for treatment. She suffered a serious brain injury that has not fully healed, the news release says.

A tipster provided information that led to Pittmon’s arrest, the news release says.
