Coachella party Neon Carnival to make Super Bowl debut
LOS ANGELES (AP) — The fair-like atmosphere of Coachella’s Neon Carnival party is making a road trip to the Super Bowl.
The party has become a sought-out event hosted during the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, attracting celebrities such as “Twilight” actress Ashley Greene, actress-dancer Julianne Hough and Oscar-winner Clint Eastwood. Guests to the invite-only event are treated to a mix of dance music and bars with carnival games.
Eastwood was photographed at 2013′s party playing with a squirt gun.
The Super Bowl edition planned for Friday night in Phoenix will be the first time the Neon Carnival is hosted anywhere but Coachella. It joins more established Super Bowl parties thrown by Playboy magazine, the two-night Leather & Laces event, and bashes thrown by DIRECTV and ESPN.
Neon Carnival creator Brent Bolthouse wrote in a statement that it was always his hope to take the party to other locales, and he is thrilled to be bringing it to the Super Bowl.
Football’s championship game is preceded by several nights of parties, musical performance and fan-friendly events.
Many of the parties have corporate sponsors, and Neon Carnival is no different, teaming up with Don Julio Tequila and 1Oak, a nightclub with locations in Los Angeles, Las Vegas and New York.
