WVC BOYS SOCCER ROUNDUP: Black Knights Give Sem First WVC Loss

At Lake-Lehman, Mike Bulzoni put the Black Knights ahead early, and his assist of Max Paczewski’s goal sealed their 2-0 shutout of undefeated Wyoming Seminary in Wyoming Valley Conference boys soccer Wednesday.

With three saves by goalkeeper Jon Raspen, Lake-Lehman (6-3-1, 6-2-1 Division 2) avenged last month’s 2-0 loss to Sem. Kyle Naugle assisted Bulzoni’s go-ahead goal.

Ryan Anderson saved six shots for the Blue Knights (8-1-1 Division 2), who fell into a tighter battle for the division title with second-place Meyers (7-1 Division 2) and third-place Lehman.

At Hanover Area, Lucas Barnak’s penalty kick at the 30-minute mark was the start of an offensive outburst, while Lance McGrane stopped 14 shots to help the Royals (5-6-1, 4-4-1 Division 2) to their third shutout of the season.

Barnak finished with three goals and an assist, and Jimmy Dunleavy added two goals.

D.J. Erickson had 15 saves for Hanover Area (1-8 Division 2).

At Valley West, Tyler Gilispie and Saquon Portee scored a pair of goals as a number of Spartans had a hand in their high-scoring shutout.

A.J. Jallow and Landon Serbin both scored and assisted goals, and Nate Naugle tallied two assists for Valley West (9-3, 8-2 Division 1), which has now won four in a row.

Owen Brown saved 20 shots for Nanticoke Area (2-10, 1-9 Division 1).
